THE REGION

Costa Calida, province of Murcia, is situated south of Alicante/Valencia and has spectacular mountains and a dramatic coastline; Costa Calida meaning "warm waters".

Nearest airports are Murcia (San Javier) 15 mins and Alicante 45 mins.

Our nearest city is Cartagena which has some lovely old buildings, as well as upmarket designer stores; there is also a newly designed port with restaurants, cafes and tapas bars. There are several hypermarkets in Cartagena, while local shopping and markets can be found in San Pedro del Pinatar.

The region is known for its local produce such as oranges, lemons, almonds, artichokes, tomatoes and salad produce. It can all be bought at local markets for a fraction of the price here in England.
